11:40 AM: When I awoke this morning I
thought I was still asleep and in the middle of a nightmare! I
could hear the awful racket of barking from just outside my
window. I climbed onto the ledge to investigate. There was a
huge van parked outside the house next door and humans were
carrying lots of furniture into the house. A silly looking dog
was running back and forward and, in between fits of chasing its
own tail and howling at nothing in particular, it was attempting
to help the humans. The humans gave him small objects and
obediently he carried them into the house. Dogs are such
pathetic creatures! Through fetching sticks, giving a paw and
other such trickery they try to become man’s best friend. They
don’t realize that humans prefer to be treated with disdain.
My humans soon gathered round the window to
see what was going on. Brat irritatingly kept saying, “Nice
doggy - nice doggy.” I must teach him that the words nice and
doggie must never be used in the same sentence.
11:24 PM: Trousers must have a short
memory for I found him sitting on my chair again this evening. I
jumped up but, no matter how hard I tried, I could not push him
off. Eventually I had to share with him. I must put more effort
into training my humans - I’m now suffering the consequences of
neglecting my duties.
